Exhibit: Making Rooms - Housing for a Changing America

The National Building Museum's (DC) new exhibit explores housing that suits the needs of the living spaces where spaces are being shared with roommates, extended family and empty nesters.

Designed by architect Pierluigi Colombo, a new concept home, illustrates how to accommodate three increasingly common household types: retired couples, extended families, and roommates.

Each arrangement includes two distinct living areas that can be joined or used separately and a smaller, more independent private space.
